The card is beginning to be finalized for perhaps the most pivotal card in Welterweight Wrestling history, as on Sunday June 2 we head to Rushville, Indiana as part of a stacked line-up to be broadcast worldwide via FITE! Tickets are available now via the Live Event/Tickets tab, but let’s preview the matches confirmed to take place as of now –
Welterweight 5 will be headlined by Welterweight Champion Dylan Bosticdefending against “The One Man Boy Band” Ace Perry in a 30-Minute Ironman Match with two referees presiding! Will the rivalry that has been intensifying since the inception of Welterweight Wrestling finally be settled?
Just added to Welterweight 5 is already being heralded as a potential show stealer – Trey Miguel has been nearly unstoppable in the Welterweight brand as of late, including a huge win over DJ Z at WW4. Trey’s success has transcended any one company and led to him becoming one of the brightest and highly praised young stars of Impact Wrestling! Louis Lyndon is making his very first WW appearance, but enters with an equally impressive reputation to those that know him. Long touted as one of the midwest’s most underrated talent, this martial arts and capoiera master looks to make his own impact at the expense of The Rascal. Can Louis propel himself up the WW rankings in one night or can Trey hold his ground and work towards another Welterweight Championship opportunity?
Ace Austin has been a part of Welterweight Wrestling since our very first event, and has improved in every facet of his game consistently since that point, including currently dazzling fans worldwide with his athleticism and showmanship as part of the Impact Wrestling roster. Colby Corino, meanwhile, is making his Welterweight Wrestling debut and has endured a long, arduous road to get here. Colby has been in the wrestling business, in one form or another, virtually his entire life, and while his last name has added pressures that come with it, Colby has risen to the occasion and had success everywhere he has been. Will “The Forgotten Son” add WW to his list of accomplishments or will Ace Austin prove he’s better than he’s ever been at Welterweight Wrestling 5 Live Event & PPV?
Nate Wings has long been described as the embodiment of what the Welterweight concept was built on – undersized, overlooked, and in spite of being pound-for-pound one of the most talented men in this part of the country, many have not given him his time to shine. Nate used the WW platform in a big way, climbing the ranks until he ultimately captured the Welterweight Title at WW3, cementing his place in history.
Malcolm Monroe III already has a place in history. A third-generation star whose name is celebrated as regional wrestling royalty in the state of Michigan has been in the industry in some form practically his entire life. With a confident swagger and chip on his shoulder, MM3 feels slighted and insulted that he hasn’t been a focal point of the Welterweight brand, and looks to use one of its most prolific stars in Nate Wings as a way to cement himself in the Welterweight top tier.
Can Nate Wings rally and ascend back to the top of the Welterweights or will the entrance of MM3 showcase him as the undisputed man to beat at Welterweight 5?
Tag team action will be on display at Welterweight 5 as the hate-infused Culmination step into Indiana to battle to young men looked at as favorite sons of the state, Hysteria! Jason Gory & Atticus Cogar have made Welterweight Wrestling their personal playground since the inception of the brand, as Gory is the only man to have competed in the main event of all 4 of the first Welterweight PPVs, while Atticus has made himself a powerful presence, whether invited or not. Sage Philips has become a true student of the game with incredible work ethic and an attitude to become the absolute best, while partner Cole Radrick has gotten himself into the best shape of his life and continues to be one of the most unpredictable entities around. Which team’s mentality will prove superior on June 2nd at Welterweight 5?
Three diverse stories converge in Rushville, IN on Sunday, June 2nd in an exhilarating three-way contest! Ophidian is best to known to the masses, having been the world over and a staple of the wildly popular CHIKARA promotion for over a decade. However, he is opposed by two workhorses who many say have gone under the radar. “50 Shades of” Bret Havoc has been long-called “Indiana’s Best Kept Secret” and has proven he can match move for move with top stars like Ace Perry or Dylan Bostic. Meanwhile, Sonny Vice has given blood, sweat, and tears to amass a reputation in the Cleveland, OH area, and has quietly become the most popular Welterweight on YouTube today. All 3 have had impressive showings on our prior WW supercards. Who will emerge victories and leave WW5 with momentum?
Six-man tag team action is on tap as it seems “The Fashionista’ Calvin Couture has been recruiting allies. Calvin has discovered Jake Hollister in his travels, and apparently feels with his own fashion sense combined with Jake’s stunning good looks, together they form an alliance that could net them the attention, the business deals, and the money they crave, not to mention in-ring success. Calvin didn’t stop there, as he’s also made friends with MV Young. A rising name in the northeast, MV Young comes in just a hair under the weight limit, and is apparently there to “protect the investment” of Calvin and Jake.
The opposing team, however, are three hungry competitors looking for opportunity. “Category 5” Corey Storm is well-known throughout the area and, in spite of just recently turning 18, already has years of experience under his belt. Dame Smith calls himself “The Wild Child” and his loud, colorful personality is just as vibrant outside the ring as it is in. Finally, Cisco Silver has been dubbed by insiders as “the hardest working up-and-coming talent in the midwest” and is even coming off of his first-ever Welterweight Title opportunity.
Can Calvin & company use WW5 as their own personal runway or will Storm, Cisco & Dame out-work their rivals to victory?
